ART4ROM

Arts for Roma Children (ART4ROM)

December 2012 – November 2014
Art4ROM is a project financed by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme promoting intercultural dialogue within Roma and non-Roma children through arts. This two-year project is a partnership of eight partners of which ERIO is part of covering five European countries: Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia and Spain.

Specific aims of the project are:
  • Reduce the sense of ‘otherness’ between Roma and non-Roma children through cultural mediation using non-formal education techniques such as music, dance, singing and the visual arts
  • Collect and share information on best practice in joined up learning practices so as to ensure Roma children remain in education beyond the primary level
  • Enhance the level of cooperation between authorities, NGOs, the private sector and grassroots organisations to increase Roma participation in public life
