"Develop key competences in social skills for Roma women to increase their participation in the service sector"

The KEYROMA project is funded by the European Commission’s Life Long Learning Programme and it is Unit 0: Introduction (EN, FR, NL, ES, CZ, BG and ROimplemented in five different countries (Spain, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Belgium) over a two year period (January 2012-January 2014).

The main aim of the KEYROMA project is to address a problem that is very common among Roma women, namely their lack of integration in the labour market as a consequence of poor education. Partners will find ways to tackle this widespread problem by motivating, encouraging and enabling them to participate in learning.

Aims of the project:

  • Improving Roma women’s socioeconomic integration through adult education
  • Contributing to an improvement of the quality of adult learning by providing tailored information applicable to a very specific target group
  • Increasing Roma women’s participation in learning, as well as their chances on the labour market
  • Establishing a direct dialogue with the target group and promoting social cohesion, active citizenship and personal fulfilment of the participating women
